HANAE MORI RETROSPECTIVE

After showing her retrospective exhibition in the New National Theatre of Tokyo, Hanae Mori will be present in La Maison de l’Amérique Latine, Boulevard Saint Germain in Paris, in Oct 2006.

Synthesizing the twenty-seven years that lasted her fashion career, this exhibition also pays a tribute to the City of Paris and the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne, which welcomed her as its first foreign member.
In 1977, she opened her Maison de Haute Couture, Avenue Montaigne – Paris 8th district.

From her famous theme « East meets West », a selection of about sixty outfits will be shown from Oct 6th to 27th 2006.

In addition to these Haute Couture garments, inspired by the millennial Japanese art combined to western modernity, this retrospective exhibition will deal with the various collaborations of Hanae Mori with theatre, specially Noh play.

The animated robot mannequin designed by Tatsuya MATSUI and dressed by Hanae Mori evinces willingness to be a hyphen with 21st century rather than pure nostalgia.
